I dont get the point why ADMIN disable from message section page only of all users. Because that is what the SMF +ve Karma add-on does. And as loads of users hated all the -ve's being given for no good reason - So admin listened to users. |

I dont think or found any technical reason or any valid reason of the technich for disable only negative rating. anyway its admin action so it's good for his/her users. OMM |

This is not a bad idea either!! To let us think only positive..... Many of our hidden forum members has been misusing the negative ratings even against our respected senior members like PMM, LEON, Qorax, Rocky, Saki.....and so on... Even Qurox, Saki decided to quit this forum due to some of harsh comments and intended ratings..... Well we can argue or put our counter opinion here but not supposed to attack personally....
With this made changes from the ADMIN lets focus and appreciate others good works. However, we still can make constructive critics, put debates on, join in counter argues and reviews but its should not let open someone badly used hidden weapon like negative ratings......

Negative Ratings has been removed from the main view, although members can still give a Poor or Good rating.
Allowing to be rated Poor is sometimes helpful to keep some members to be respectful and to help me judge when to delete a post and/or ban a member. It also allows other members to be diligent when taking advice from others if they have a lot of poor ratings. Basically it's about getting feedback from the community on member's conduct as well as the information being shared.
Unfortunately it was not being used appropriately and negative ratings were being given for the wrong reasons. This is why I have removed it from the main view since it was not accurately representing a member's reputation.
PS. As Leon pointed out, they can still be viewed under your profile. So your reputation will still be reflected and accountable from your profile page. Please use appropriately so that it can be helpful to others.
Dear Sir Admin, Thankyou very much for taking positive step  . But I think concept of negative / positive ratings shouldn't be taken seriously becasue this is a forum where people volunteer to help each other. No money / incentives are involved so I think negative ratings doesn't matter that much. Plus if you think people judje other people with their positive / negative ratings I think thats not true. I have been assisted by people who have many many negative ratings plus I assist other people where I can regardless of my negative / positive ratings. Some people here are very emotional and they are affected by negative ratings as I saw on other thread where poeple saying they are scared of posting anything becasue of fear of being given negative and that was the reason why I started last thread just to please people and let them know negative ratings means nothing. If you completely remove negative ratings that would be very kind and nice of you and we will feel extremely obliged. Many thanks and Regards pittabread |
