Needs an urgent answer pls!

Hi everyone,

I'll be sponsoring my husband so I was reviewing the guide. He has a son that's been abandoned by the mother since birth. So, my question is do we have to wait for the abandonment issue in the court is done (takes a year they said). Or can I sponsor him first and get the child after the issue is resolved? thanks!

Since the issue is still not determined, list the child as a non-accompanying dependent and have his medical done.  Once the court matter is finalized, you should then be able to sponsor the child freely.
