I'm a permanent resident living in Canada sponsoring my common law partner (in the UK) and our dependant child (in Canada with me).  I'm trying to figure out our fees.  On the calculation page is it 2 Right of Permanent Residence, or 1? (do I include my daughter on this, she is nearly 3?) Also for Sponsorship Application (per application), again, is it 2 or 1? (my daughter is going on her dad's forms).  Everything else I'm sure of, just these two.  Can anyone help?  Thank you.

Your common-law partner is the principal applicant. Your daughter is being sponsored as his accompanying dependant. Only principal applicants (and their accompanying spouse, if applicable) have to pay the RPRF. (See here.) And since your daughter is being sponsored as a dependant of your partner on his forms, i.e. there's only one principal applicant, you only pay one sponsorship fee.

So, your fees should look like:

Sponsorship fee = $75
Principal applicant = $475
Dependent child (less than 22 yrs old) of principal applicant = $150
Right of Permanent Residence Fee = $490

Total = $1,190

Thank you so much for your reply.  I bet a lot of people have made this mistake of overpaying on fees, and unfortunately they are not reimbursed.
