1. Re: IMM1344 question # 9.  If you are a permanent resident or a naturalized Canadian Citizen, provide the following information...not sure how to answer this. I was born in Canada.
2. Page 7 of 7. Signatures.  Second line. Signature of sponsor's spouse...so I need to have her sign this in VN?
3. Also under Signatures.  Signature of sponsored person (principal applicant).  Me or her?
4. IMM5540. Q. 14. Has your spouse met any of your close friends or family?  The answer is of course, NO.  They can't come to Canada for a visit.  Any comments?
5. For evidence of the relationship, here's what I have.
a. Itineraries and boarding passes of each of my 5 trips to VN.  Also evidence of other trips we took in VN.
b. Copies of emails, phone records, lots of pictures, hotel and other receipts showing places we visited together.
c. A summary of how we got to know each other to date.
Should I mail originals?  It seems like a lot of photocopying.  I guess I need to mail the application in a fairly secure envelope and should I sent it regular mail?  Lots of questions, I know..sorry but I've tried calling CIC and I can't through.  I can't afford to mess this up..I know there are some very knowledgable folks on this forum.
Thanks everyone..

1. N/A since you were born in Canada.
2. Yes - she needs to sign.
3. She is the principal applicant and sponsored person - so she needs to sign.
4. This questions is asking if your spouse has met your family and friends (i.e. either she met them in Canada or they traveled to VN to meet her there). If the answer is no - I would provide some explanation in your relationship write up.
5. Send photocopies of anything you might want to keep. There's no guarantee they will return it. And if you send an original of anything you don't have a copy of - make a photocopy before you send it for your own records.

Hello Scylla,
Thanks so much for your early and concise reply.  I'm leaving in January to be married in HCMC.  I will take my sponsorship papers with me.  We will be using services of EOM to complete my Vietnamese spouses papers and have them translated into english. Then I will have her sign as required on everything.  Do I need to get extra copies of everything (like 10 copies) and have everything stamped there as well?
I will be away for a few days before checking the forum. Cheers..

I don't have any experience with translating and stamping. Hopefully someone else will be able to answer your questions.

Jimbob,

The best option for you is use IOM (International Organization for Migration) pay $80 US dollars, They will help your wife to complete all forms and tells you what forms need to be translate, stamp or original copies that you need to bring back Canada to submit.
