need to renew WP and Visa?

i know this has been discussed before but i cant find the old posts.

can anyone please help me and my friend with this:

a friend (LCP) will be applying for PR this coming december. but her WP and visa is expiring before that time.

she is asking if she still needs to renew both her WP and visa even though she will be applying her PR/OWP come december.

i said to her yes, but another LCP told her that she doesnt need to.

which is which?

She should renew her WP considering the processing time is longer nowadays and then apply for the TRV once the WP comes. She does not need LMO but she'll need a new contract with the employer (if she'll be working for same employer), else she'll need a LMO before she can apply for the WP.
