Thanks for your quick reply PMM. However I did not understand your reference to Buffalo. I shall be moving from New Delhi, India to Toronto Canada on a temporary work permit. Could you please explain this in a bit more details? My original question was after I have completed 1 year in Canada where can I apply for my Permanent residence in Canada?

if they give you the 1 year permit, you must go there (U.S.) and aplly ,so you need a visitor visa...

You mean you have a contract job for one year? if so then your company can extent that period by one year again

Have u been able to extend the Visa limit. I am also planning to come to Canada on work permit? Please suggest is there any thing i should ensure or do abt? My ultmiate aim is to reside there.
