Hi everyone. Me and my husband got married in 2008 and applied Inland PR and sent our application to vegervill office and by the end of 2009 they had send to calgary office to review my file and in Jan 2011 the Calgary office sent me letter asking me to do medical and I did the medical and they had already received. I applied for open work permit and they issued me a open work permit. On the work permit, it's say that my PR is initially approved. I havn't heard anything from the calgary office. What is the meaning of initially PR approved. How long does it take after they received the medical and initial approval. I want to know that "Do you still have to do interview after they initial approved your PR".

Thank you so much..

Calgary issued you AIP.  Now you need to wait for your landing interview.

AIP (Approval in Principle) is the first stage of assessment on an inland application.  After AIP, they review your medical, criminal and background checks before finalizing the application.  Estimated timeline is anywhere from 3 - 8 months - depending on how long it takes for them to complete the background checks.
