need photos for the PR card application?

As I understand the procedure, my wife -- a newly minted PR -- will land at the Vancouver airport and go to the immigration processing centre.
There she will complete an application for her PR card, and provide photos, right? 

I am asking to be sure, because nowhere did CIC tell us to bring more photos.  The embassy asked for 6 additional photos did many months ago, but they cannot know where we intend to land, and so cannot have forwarded the extra photos to Vancouver.

(I wonder what they do with all those extra photos?)

Photo is attached to your spouse's COPR and is used for the PR card.  She doesn't fill out the PR application, the IO does it at "landing"

Thanks, PMM, for clarifying that.  I could not find in the literature where this matter was explained clearly.  Did I miss something?  Do you find the literature clear?

The embassy attaching the photo to the COPR seems efficient -- unless the agency that issues the PR card decides to reject the photo (which has happened according to several posts on this forum). It is curious to me that the agency can (and does) second-guess the embassy in rejecting certain photos.

This is a serious matter for the PR who has to return to the home country before receiving the letter rejecting the PR card photo. He or she must then return to Canada (I am told) to personally present new photos.   To avoid this possibility, my wife has had several photos taken, and will give these to the Border Officer processing her landing.  That will give the agency more choices.

when we submit ppt to get visa and COPR, could we submit the pics that matches the new criterias for PRC and explain why we chooase not to follow the spec mentioned in PPR letter?

I'm confused now. Please clarify!

What I understand so far is when the VO (in my case Seattle) asks for PPT, we provide 2 pics. The specs are the same as for Temporary Resident Visa right? Now the issue is that TRV photos aren't same anymore like PRC:
1) Seattle asks in PPR that
-The frame size be at least 35 mm x 45 mm (1 3/8″ x 1 3/4″),
-The size of the head, from chin to crown, must be between 31 mm (1 1/4″) and 36 mm (1 7/16″), and
-Provide two photographs of yourself taken within the last 6 months

2) The new spec for PRC are as follow
- The photo must be 35 mm (1 3/8” X 45 mm 1 3/4”),
- The head must measure between 25 mm (1”) and 30 mm (1 1/5”) from crown to chin,
- Provide two photographs that have been taken within the past 12 months

We did just that:  we handed in the COPR with attached photo (presumably approved by the embassy, but that is no 100% guarantee that the PR Card people will accept it), and also added a small bag of additional photos just in case.  The Border Officer processing my wife's landing thought this was a good idea, added an explanatory note, and that was that.

Why do you think this will lead to a rejection?   Have you heard of this happening before?

Exactly the same situation here. How can you send new photos without receiving the notification letter?

We landed in Vancouver and they sent our documents to Nova Scotia. Now they say that our file has been sent back to Vancouver office and it takes 10 weeks for them to answer then we have to sent it again and wait for another  8 weeks! So totally 18 weeks which is 4 months!

Do you know any better workaround? Could I send the photos without having to wait for their letter?
