need information for step 1 letter

i send e.mail to chc london about my case status they reply me that your case is in final bacground/security checks what does it means, does any one got this kind of answer i have done my medical on feb,2011 still waiting for step 1 letter.does any one have any idea how long more time does it will take for step 1 letter

I did my meds in feb 2011 too, sent email to chc london in june 2011 but didnt get any reply, Insha Allah we will get our PPR step 1 letter soon.

This means before a visa can be issued a complete check has to be done and most past all checks.
