Dear Users, I'm new to this forum, I hope someone can help me with proper information... I have applied for Canada Immigration through Alberta province. Now my application is with Buffalo's CIC and they sent for Medical request for myself and my husband. Also it has been scheduled on Nov 3rd 2011. Under Meds request CIC has asked for 1)Eye exam 2) Chest x-ray 3) HIV Test 4) Other physical Currently I'm "PREGNANT" and Doctor has refused to do Chest X-ray to me as its not safe for the baby and its true too. Now will CIC accept Meds with out my Chest X-ray??? I'm very confused and worried Appreciate if someone could help me with their similar experiences... Navya

Navya You can do it without Xray but your case will not be finalized until all medical requirements are cleared.

yes DMP cannot do your x-ray until you gave birth. so if you just got pregnant that's a long wait for you. and your approval for your provincial nominee get expire as well. don't get me wrong if i say this, but getting pregnant while your application is not done yet specially if you havnt done your medical is risk taking..call cic what's the best thing you can do to extend the medical request for x-ray and inform them your situation.

hi navya,,
let me clear my self here..I assumed you are talking about PR application for AINP? If so, are you the principal applicant or i mean the person being nominated? if you are the principal applicant here and if you are under AINP Program then sorry to say this but i guess you are in trouble. This actually happen to one of my co-worker. she got pregnant and AINP learned about that, they confirmed it from her and they cancelled her AINP application. she didn't get her extension for the nomination. For them it doesn't make sense to give her an extension because she'll be in her mat leave anyway. good thing she had another option for a skilled worker application and she doesnt need the AINP anymore. If the principal applicant is your husband, he will be fine unfortunately i cannot give a definite answer what's going to happen in your part as you are pregnant. that's if the husband is the principal applicant. does cic knows you are pregnant right now?

Dear Rouvie, Well I was thinking that instead of waiting until my delivery for Medical examination I'll go ahead and do the meds as per the schedule (leaving x-ray part)... If I'm lucky enough CIC might give an exception... If not I'm dam sure that they request for 2nd time meds which includes only x-ray for myself. I know by this it will delay my PR process but I don't mind.... I feel instead of doing nothing...doing something is better.... In the mean while I'll contact CIC too by updating my current situation, I'm sure they will understand my situation!!! What do you feel about my idea??? Navya

No I'm not the prinicipal applicant but its my husband Also I'm a housewife..... No we are still yet to inform to CIC as they have told we need to inform them after birth of a baby, but anyways due to this x-ray issue I'm planning to inform them shortly

Hi Navya, Dont worry about the situation. There is no joy greater than knowing you have a life inside you. It will take you longer to get the PR but you will eventually get it. Inform CIC of your situation and go back to the waiting game. Goodluck

Dear Okawama, Yes you are very much true, I was waiting for this baby from past many years and PR infront of her is very less More than my Meds is expected to reach in 2nd or 3rd week of December (as per Doctor's office it will take approx 3 weeks after examination to reach CIC) and my meds are scheduled in Nov 1st week My labor due date is in Jan 2nd week so there will be delay of just 1 or 2 months that's it even though they ask for 2nd round meds ie chest x-ray to myself it will be completed and will be reached CIC by Feburary end Hopefully CIC will give an extension of 2 more months to complete entire Medical examinations!!! Navya

Dear Rouvie, Thanks for the response, really it was helpful!!! I'm crossing fingers and hoping to get an 2 months extension, if CIC gives an exception for my chest x-ray... I'll be the really lucky one (but chances are very less), if not they will ask me 2nd of meds for chest x-ray (only for myself). Let's see whatz going to happen??? I'll keep you guys posted on this Navya

Navya You may undergo all exams except the X-rays untill you deliver you baby, then you'll have to make it. In some rare cases, in early months (2~3), you can wear a shield (UPON YOUR PHYSICIAN ADVICE) and have the X-rays. Good luck
