Usually the CIC is well satisfied if you submit your bank statement of 6 months showing the amount in your account ( or copies of fixed deposits made at least  6 months ago). But the visa offices are flexible for this period.

You have to maintain the shown funds till you are issued a PR visa.

On getting your visa you can withdraw the amount or transfer the funds to the form of Canadian dollar, or traveller's cheque or Demand drafts drawn on Canadian Bank.  You can choose how you have to carry the funds to Canada.

You are welcome.
It would work. The visa offices are not very strict if you have the funds since last few months. The amount should not be deposited recently before the application.
