we just recieved our passport request and I need to know if its necessary for us to do flag poling. Is there any other way of doing landing other than crossing the border? I live in Calgary.

you can call CIC call center and set an appointment to "land" at a local CIC office. BUT this may take more than a month. We were planning to take this route but the call center agent said the earliest they can accommodate my husband is after 2 months. That's why my husband just decided to drive 3 hours to the US border. Travel time is longer than the actual landing process.  Cheesy
