NEED HELP!IMM1249 APPLICATION TO CHANGE CONDITIONS, EXTEND MY STAY

Hi everyone, I need help or advice regarding my case as a tourist and married to a canadian citizen with
previous undertaking.

CASE:

I'm holding a valid tourist visa which will expire on August 2011
I'm married to canadian citizen with previous undertaking which will end on August 2011.

I'd like to extend my stay as a tourist legally while waiting for my wifes previous undertaking come to end
and at the same time i'd like to get an open work permit.

Since my wife can not submit sponsorship application yet due to her previous undertaking,
Can i Apply for "IMM1249 APPLICATION TO CHANGE CONDITIONS, EXTEND MY STAY"?

I have read the frequently asked question in the CIC website regarding
IMM1249 APPLICATION TO CHANGE CONDITIONS, EXTEND MY STAY can include along with the spouse sponsorhip
and once you are ellgible, temporary open work permit will be issued ASAP so that you can work legally
while waiting for your spouse sponsorship approval.

Is there anyone can help or advice me on what am i going to do?

Yes you can apply to extend our stay as a visitor using this form.  You cannot use this form to change your status from visitor to a worker.  That is only applicable when you submit it with the PR sponsorship together with this form.  When you submit the PR Application sometime in August or September then you can attach this form to change your status from visitor to worker (open work permit).  It takes about 9 months to receive first stage approval or to receive the open work permit.

i have worries in applying to extend my stay
because theres a question in the form regarding
citizenship of my spouse. officer might have some doubts
why i am applying to extend my stay only,instead of applying
for spouse sponsorship.any suggestions pls

I do not have all your facts, but extending a stay can be for the purpose of exploring their relationship.
