need help/advice on LA actor looking for work visa for ontario area

I'm a working Actress in Los Angeles.....and have been traveling....back and forth from LA to Toronto the past 2 years with my Boyfriend who is also an actor...however we are talking about prolonging our stay in the Toronto area...and I want to but I am finding it hard to audition there without an actors work visa. I spoke to some people...and they said i could "crash" auditions and such...but I don't see how that is possible seeing as the first questions they ask is If I have a work visa or permit or whatnot. I'm at a loss and could really use advice if anyone has it. I have a good resume..and have been employed with Lead roles in big productions...We want to go there as soon as we can...and eventually settle down there..but I can't see myself taking that risk without being able to work....please if anyone can help give me advice i would be forever indebted to you.
