Dear FMA..Am located in Dubai and will be applying from here. The consultant over here is charging around 4000 USD for the full process (excluding visa and medical charges).
Really expensive, isn't it?
Am tempted to do it on my own after reading everyones' posst here.
Will be booking a slot for IELTS tomorrow; the date is Sep last week.

Just a silly suggestion,
Apply urself and give $4000 to this website's owner Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue
Help both ways
Just kidding.

Go through all the posts here and CIC website,go through the application - take printout of it AND SEE WHAT DETAILS are to be entered in there. You will not require any consultant. Save money for Canada. Mr. Qorax made a new club here in Mississauga (ON) for new immigrants and perhaps with that saved money you can buy us one fine Lunch.

It is simple :
1. Gather all your education documents, employment documents- appointment/ contract letters - promotion letters-appreciation letsalary slips, Tax documents, IELTS, PCC,passport , your spouse - education documents, passport, kids birth certificates, edu documents, passport, Proof Of Funds documents- like savings in bank, Fixed deposit etc
2. Rocollect your and your spouse address of last 10 or more years, your education and job period
3  Fill all the particulars by hand in immigration application ( it is rough)
4  Get job duties letter and appreciation letter ( you can have some idea from hrsdc website - but dont cut and paste it- draft in your own language)
5. For any information/ clarification you require post it here
5. Finalize your application and sent it to CIO with fee draft, PCC, IELTS TRF, Job duties letter
( CIO takes about 2-3 months)

Then wait for 120 days letter
1...  Submit your notarized education, original / notarized employment, job duties letter- original, appreciation letter - 2 - original, passport copy( all pages)- simple- all old and expired, photographs 5 ( 35*45 see instructions on CIC website), new application for which you sent earlier.
and that is it
( 2-4 months wait)

Wait for medicals, RPRF, Passport
!.   After the medicals letter, take appointment from DMP - go for medicals,
2.  After 4-5 days of medicals , send your passport( old and new) , send RPRF 490 CAD to local visa office and then wait

( 1-2 months to issue visa and CoPR)

In between enjoy your time by checking e status and readings posts here

( GOT THE POST FROM POSTMAN)
One fine day you will get your visa stamped passport and you will be glad to inform us here.

WE WILL SAY  - WELCOME TO CANADA

AFTER this another process starts - like travelling, luggage, travel insurance, job hunting, accomodation, kids school- inc medical record, SIN, PR card and for that you can get assistance here in this forum after visa.

I hope this helps you.
