Hello Everyone,

I am a Canadian PR and my wife is an international student on a student visa. I need to apply for CCTB but am unable to understand the twisted language Smiley and terms used in the form. I searched this forum for any post about filling RC66, 'Status in Canada/Statement of Income' form but could not find any related post. I would be grateful if someone could help me with this.

PART B - Residency Status:

Do I have to provide the date I first became the resident of Canada. I became a PR in Oct 2006?
Am I a new resident or a returning resident?
Do I have to provide the date my wife landed in Canada as her residency date? She is still not a permanent resident though.

PART D - Immigration Status:

Do I have to provide the date for which I need to get the benefit? or complete period of my PR status?
My wife section needs to be empty here ? because she is not eligible and since I am already applying.
No information about my wife needs to be provided in the Temporary resident section because she has been in Canada for the last 5 months only?

PART E - Status of Income:

Do I need to provide my last Tax return form ?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks and Regards,
Ali

Hello Everyone,

I am a Canadian PR and my wife is an international student on a student visa. I need to apply for CCTB but am unable to understand the twisted language Smiley and terms used in the form. I searched this forum for any post about filling RC66, 'Status in Canada/Statement of Income' form but could not find any related post. I would be grateful if someone could help me with this.

PART B - Residency Status:

Do I have to provide the date I first became the resident of Canada. I became a PR in Oct 2006?- yes
Am I a new resident or a returning resident?- did you leave Canada for a long period of time after you became PR? If yes, you are a returning resident
Do I have to provide the date my wife landed in Canada as her residency date? She is still not a permanent resident though.- If you are the applicant, this questin refers to you.

PART D - Immigration Status:

Do I have to provide the date for which I need to get the benefit? or complete period of my PR status?- complete period of your PR status
My wife section needs to be empty here ? because she is not eligible and since I am already applying.- empty because she is not PR yet
No information about my wife needs to be provided in the Temporary resident section because she has been in Canada for the last 5 months only? Yes

PART E - Status of Income:

Do I need to provide my last Tax return form ?- You don't need to. If you filed your tax returns in Canada in the previous years, they will have records of these.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks and Regards,
Ali
