I contacted an immigration lawyer today and was informed that immigration classification has been changed since June and I will no longer be available to apply for it. I contacted him in the beginning of this year and he said that I was good to go. At that time I just wanted to see what my option were, wasn't serious about immigration to Canada.

I have two questions:

1) I am self employees freelancer (web developer/designer, and consulting) for the last 3 years. Am I eligible for Canada immigration?

2) If not, is there any chance that they might change the classification again next year for me to be eligible?

I am in USA/NY.

Thanks for any help.
