starting a common-law relationship seems to be really difficult to us for some reason Sad
i'm currently visiting my boyfriend in Calgary but is due to go home tomorrow.

we both want to live together but it's hard when i can't get a job straight away to be able to pay for joint lease etc..

what would be ideal to start up with? i hope this isn't a too silly question

Do you guys feel it is too early to marry? Because that would be the simplest "way out" it seems (well, at least for immigration  Grin)

I am not sure if I completely understand your question...Start up what - living together?
How big is his apartment? I know several couples who lived in bachelor-size apartments for years...maybe you can move in with him without paying for the lease? (not sure how much your boyfriend makes), or you both could live with his family (again not sure how the relationship is etc)?

Have you ever considered applying to the work holiday program?   That would allow you to come to Canada for one year and that way you can work while geting in the year needed to apply common law.

Follow the link underneath.

Not sure if youre from Denmark or the UK?

see the thing is he lives with his family at the moment but is looking for a place to live.
while i go home to the UK where i live to get some more money and then i'm thinking about getting out again..

i meant starting up living together in Canada.

regarding the working holiday programme - i'm not eligible for it since i'm a Danish citizen but i live in London. boo Sad
