Hi everyone!

My husband's application is still in process but he wants to go and visit his parents in Syria for about a month and a half.  Is it okay that he go and visit them?  Would their be any effects on our application?  Please advise.

Thank you!

If you are applying inland, he should stay until it's completed.  If you are applying outland, no problem.

What if he gets his passport request letter while he's in Syria?? Does he have someone to check his mail while he's gone? You typically have only 30 days to submit your passport -- 30 days from when the letter is sent, not from when you receive it. So unless he has someone checking his mail and he can cut his trip short, I personally would not risk it. He won't get a 2nd chance to submit it.
