Need advice on Divorce after PR !!!
«

My Husband and I applied for self sponsorship ( He was principal applicant), we were given visa and we entered the country in May 2011 we applied for PR card and was told it would be posted to the address we were staying at, we already got our SIN number but the PR card was not received. How can we inquire about the status of the card?
We have returned to our home country and we now want to file for divorce how will this affect our permanent residence status.

It wont affect the PR status you can come to Canada separately and enjoy your lives without each other

Right, the divorce will not affect your PR status. When you are ready to return to Canada, you can talk to the Canadian embassy where you are about getting a travel document to return and once you are in Canada again, you can phone CIC and report your PR card as having been lost and ask them to send you another. If it is already at that point 6 months or more since you landed, you will have to fill out a PR card application, provide new photos and pay $50.
