Need advice on applying for PR

I am 28 and have been living and working in Toronto for 2 1/2 years on the WHP. I want to apply for permanent residency as I love living here and love my job. The closest position to what I do on the NOC database is a skill level C. I work at a law firm, my main duties are opening and closing all the legal files.I have no college or university education. Is there any suggestions as to what I could do to make my position qualify for a higher skill level without being promoted?
My boyfriend is Canadian and we've been in a relationship for about 3 years but we've only been living together for the last few months.
Can anyone give me some advise on applying for permanent residency? My temporary work permit ends Mid 2012. I don't meet the criteria for a skilled worker. Is there anything I can do?

They are both skilled.  If your occupation is skilled, then you can apply for your PR through Canadian Experience class.  There is also a possibility that your employer can sponsor you under the provincial nominee program.

There are hardly any immigration options for low skilled people but since you have a boyfriend you are living with, you can either wait until you have lived together for 12 months and then he can sponsor you as a common law or you can get married and he can sponsor you right away.

Hi thanks for your response. The position I hold isn't really on the noc database. I was hired on originally as an office clerk/office admin support (skill level C). I ordered supplied and did general office tasks. After about 6 months they began training me in opening/closing client files as well and I've done that ever since. It's not really a legal assistant position. They are going to start passing me some more "legal assistant" tasks. But they want me to keep doing what I do now. It's really a matter of titles.

The job duties have to match the NOC, the title is not important because titles for positions can vary between employers.

So if I am doing legal assistant duties as well as the tasks I do already, would they consider me as a legal assistant?

If your job duties fit reasonably well with that NOC, you can apply under CEC under that NOC but I suppose you would also need a letter from the employer describing your job duties matching that.
