Hi guys

I had my landing interview this morning at the Etobicoke office in Toronto and am now officially a Permanent Resident!

However, they have made a mistake in my Confirmation of PR. My passport only has a "Full name" section and so my given name(s) and surname are written all as one. I noticed on my COPR that the 'Given name' area was blank and they placed my full name under 'Surname'. I was told my the officer who interviewed me that i would need to apply for this to be amended because right now it looks like i have no first name! My PR card is on the way, however because the PR Card name needs to match the COPR, i assume it will be the same issue on my PR card.

Is this something that immigration should rectify?? I was told a name amendment would take 3-4months. I do not want to wait that long as i need to apply for a US visa soon to go on holiday and surely having mistakes in my legal documents is not going to help the process.

Please advise

Thanks
Phe.

Nope, you get your passport amended and then you apply for an amended PR card.
