Hello Everyone,

Im currently in the process of filing an application for my wife's residency in Canada.  Her current US passport still has her maiden name on it.  We were married in 2004 but her passport does not expire till 12/15/2009.

Would anyone suggest that she should get a new passport with our last name on it?

Thanks in advance,
Kevin

If she wants her PR to be issued in her married name, yes, she needs to get a new passport.  Here's the information she needs to complete this change by mail - even from Canada.

Married Sept '06 after 4 yr LDR.  Applied via outland ap in March 2007 -  refused Jan '08 due to inadmissible adult "dependent child".  Appeal filed Jan '08; still waiting for resolution.
