Nairobi was the worest office the last 6 monthsore with an processing time of 29 months and now the new updates of april 27th it became even worser with a duration of 31 months. what do you think is going with this office? while Beijing is as small as 4 months, are the cases in nairobi 10 times more complex than those in Beijing China? any ideas please becuase a 31 months is almost 3 years which is will be the worest case for a couple to be stranded in two different continents.
For UK spousal visas or sponsorships are processing in 3 months, while the US and many others the worest is 1 year.

One reason for longer processing times is that these countries typically have significantly higher levels of marriage fraud and for this reason each application has to be checked far more thoroughly. However I'm sure that this is just one of several contributing factors.

the problem is with the region itself: u could falsify a lot of documents from marriage certificates to divorce certificates, passport stamps etc (so they spend more time to check every single thing); plus the security and other background checks will be much longer

No matter what, I will never feel that the difference in processing times is just. Canada has preferential applicants. That's just the way it is.

Well, get used to it.  Imagine being married to someone who comes from a country that has war criminals. I've fallen in love with a man from one of these countries who is innocent and good.   Yeah, life isn't fair.   If you can find another country more just than Canada then so be it.  I'm tired of people complaining about my country, and yet everyone wants to come here.  Meh.

actually Canada is ur country cleo as much as it is mine or any other sponsor!! u don't know if the one writing is sponsor or applicant; as much as i love Canada i can open my eyes to see that processing times r not fair and that sponsors r not treated equally all over the world...why should one sponsor wait for a spouse for 31 months while another for 3!!!! isn't equality one of the basic rights? maybe a central processing system for all outland would help (for example some time ago, many FSW class were all processed in London, maybe they could do the same for family class too)....if we, as Canadian citizens or PR, don't do something to change (talk to MPs, make a petition, increase awareness), no one else would

I am Canadian. I don't like what that means sometimes. It's justified.

Abu dhabi office also have a processing time of 27 months which is very close to Nairobi, it is the second worest, what could be the common factors that this two offices share?
For this office there are no warlords applicants, and documents can not be easily falsified as every things can be verified easily by the local authority in the shortest period.
There could be a possiblity of marriage fraud, but i am not sure about ather factors,
May be these two offices they are understaffed.

I agree, it is unjust that there can be such a large difference in processing time in offices, especially for the family class. It's as though someone from one area of the world has more of a right to be with their family than others from another area. 3 years is a ridiculous amount of processing time, no matter what they need to investigate. If it has gotten to that point then there should be more staff added to these offices. If the government is unable to hire more staff, then take staff from the countries who take a short processesing of 3-6 months. 31 months is completely ridiculous and it is just wrong that we all pay the same processing fees, yet others have to wait up to 10 times as long as others.

me too i read of cases where both the abu-dhabi and nairobi office were much faster, around 12-18 months, even less, just a few months for some in nairobi...so it really depends and it's case by case...prepare well ur application, include all ur docs, make everything clear and hope for the best Smiley also the processing times is for 80% and it's average, for 50% of the applicants it could be 20 months, for 20% of the applicants it could be one year, statistics is a complicated thing  Huh

i don't think there r a lot in common between these 2 embassies; not sure the percentage of marriage fraud found in abu-dhabi but since they r new to all this (they started the family class just a few years ago), there's less past experience and background to rely on; also, other things which come in mind would be:

1. most people who apply through the abu-dhabi route are residents in the respective gulf countries, not citizens, hence it takes more time to check them in their country of nationality, the validity of their documents, etc
2. i heard that some interviews r scheduled outside abu-dhabi because of all the travel restrictions in uae and gulf in general and they might give just a few interview times per year - not sure if the officer who knows ur file will travel and interview u or they need to forward ur file and it will take again time for the new officer to go through it, etc
3. there are a lot of different types of temporary workers and students applying through abu-dhabi...it looks that it's the same waiting line for them and the family class  Shocked, with the family class having the smallest priority  Shocked
