Hi All.....my wife has a 3 year old daughter.  I want to sponsor her also to join me in Canada.  The child is illegitimate and the father left after she was pregnant.  She has had no contact with him and has no idea of his whereabouts.  He's a deadbeat.  He is not record on the birth record.  Will we need any special paperwork for her under these circumstances?  Or do I just sponsor her normally as our dependent child?

Thanks in advance.

You will just have to show documentation that she is your adopted daughter and you have legal custody
