My Passport got wet..

I am an exchnage student at Schulich, York University from Lancaster University UK. I hold a Pakistani passport.

After completing the fall term at Schulich, I cam to US to visit my sister.

My passport was in my pants and my sister put it in the washing machine without checking it.

It is now in in slightly bad shape, but no torn pages at all and both the Studdent Visa and the Study permit is clearly legible.


Now i am retuing to canada in 2 days and I dont know what will happen at the immigration. Someone said that they might deport me. Others say that they have all my details on their record and that they must be coming across this problem. I went to the Canadian consulate here, the women was sure but she said that the maximum I can face is a fine at the immigration fo about $250. Im ready to face that, but not ready to face deportation obviously.

Does anyone here know anything about this?

hi,
now a days they have all data in computers but its unique situation you should go to pakistani Embassy and get new passport and later you can contact other embassies who gave you visas but as you said you going to face immigration in two days so hope after fine they can allow you to go but also possible that they can deport you as so many people travel on fake passport so the excuse you will give them maybe they will deny it , the best way is go to pakistani Embassy and they can give you an urgent Passport with double fee and you can attach this passport with new one , but other thing isnt easy to travel on destroy passport , well what ever happen keep posting your experience , takecare and Good luck
