My husband is quite anxious.  He will have interview in 2 days (Monday September 12) at the visa office.  We practiced the questions usually asked at an interview.  The problem is that he has a problem with dates.  It is not only about the questions the VO might ask at the interview (how long has your spouse been working? when did you get married? when did you meet? etc.), it is all about the dates!  He does not remember dates for himself!  Like he does not remember when he did that course or what year he worked for that employer and so on!

What do you recommend?  He is afraid to fail the interview because he cannot remember dates.

Thank you for your advice!  He wrote down all the dates on the list of questions, but he cannot read the answers at the interview, he will look silly lol  He took time off this week to concentrate, get himself prepared and memorize the answers, but still... he has a hard time!  It is all confused in his head!  We got married in front of an Adul one day, the other day we had the Baha'i ceremony (my religion) and another day the muslim ceremony (his religion).  So he has to memorize 3 dates for the wedding, as if it was not enough! lol

Peace to you too!

My husband has the same problem.. He can't remember my birthday or anyone else's (except our son's) or our wedding date.  So I hope he isn't interviewed...

There are many places online to find memory tricks such this video: http://www.videojug.com/interview/remembering-appointments-dates-events

I would have him concentrate on remembering your birthday and that of anyone important (your children for example) and your wedding dates. Other answers (when you two met/when someone met another person's parents) could be more general since general answers are probably the best he can do at this point.

Other than that, relax and don't stress. If he's stressed, it might make matters worse!

When it comes to dates, my husband is fairly hopeless with them too.  I told him the only dates I need him to remember are our anniversary and my birthday, he is free to forget all others, those are the only ones that matter to me for him to remember and acknowledge.  I am the date keeper in our family, I even track his medical appointments for him so he doesn't have to try to recall them.

Have him concentrate on the dates that matter...the ones that made you legal (all 3 ceremonies), and important birthdays.

I think they know that a lot of people have problems with dates. My own hubby would say something like "I don't even remember my own mother's birthday, I have no clue when my wife's is... sometime in the spring? maybe april? no that's our wedding date... maybe it's march..." LOL memory tricks like associating your birthday and wedding dates with big holidays that he will remember can help - like if your birthday is in december, have him "link" your birthday to whatever holiday in december he's most familiar with.
