We sent in our application, and the CIC received it, about a week ago.

After mailing it in, I noticed that on the 1344 (the one we both have to sign) my husband had written his address wrong. He lives on a numbered street (eg, 12th street, 103rd st) and wrote that number under both "street name" and "street number".

Is this important? Do we need to fix it? How would we fix it?

If he's the sponsor, he can try to call the Call Centre around the time when they should be processing your application, and see if it can be updated then.

If he's the applicant, wait until the sponsor is approved and you have confirmation that the file has been received at the VO, then do a case-specific enquiry to update it.

He's the sponsor. When should they be processing the application?

If we don't manage to get it updated at the right time (both of us are really disorganized) what happens?

Count 70 (calendar) days from when the application was received, and call then.

If he doesn't get it corrected, then if they send the approval letter by snail mail, he could miss it, and would have to ask for a new one.

Oh, okay. He authorized things to be sent by email so that shouldn't be too bad.

I was more worried about someone taking objection to the incorrect information if we mess up on correcting it.
