Hi, everyone
I wanted to share my experence with you guys and might need some suggestion. So this is how it started i came to Canada like about five years ago on a student visa and i went to school for like about 3 years and got married two years ago and my marrage didnt last more then year and half, i married one messed up women she wasnt stable from her mind, i think she had bypolar depression, and on top of that got charged with an assult because i got into a fight with some guy, So thing is that i am not a canadian citizen, and got criminal charges on me, and my work permit expired in july 2010, so i appled for another work permit under labour maket, and it been about 6 months now they havnt given me any permit yet they want me not to contact them and just wait for there reply. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO KNOW, my charges got droped few days ago i dont know they will issue me a visa now or not,
Do you guys have any suggestions that would help me?

so your permit has expired and you r still living there. Within 1 month of application for renewal of visa is called implied status but, after that you will be considered as overstayed.

Didn't they send you any departure order?

If they asked you to wait for their decision then you should keep all those references. They will be very much useful to you in future.

At this moment i think you should just wait or you can try for a study permit again but choose the right course to your prev. education n experience

but buddy avoid any deportation. are you at risk of deportation, mean do they have your address, can they forcebaly remove you???

i think best would be to consult with a lawyer in canada. he will be best adviser...........

If you happen to have overstay then, they'll send you a departure order. Once you get the departure order you should leave the country within 30 days from the date letter issued. If you don't leave country within this period then, it will be responsibility of CBSA (Canada Border Service Agency) to kick you out of the country.

CBSA considers this as a serious violation immigration law and issues a deportation order. The deportation order could be an exclusion order (1 or 2 year ban to return to Canada) or it could be a deportation order (life-time ban to return to Canada). Once you get the deportation or exclusion order and if you wish to come back to Canada during ban period, you would need to get ARC (Authorization to Return to Canada) besides normal visa.

I suggest you to try for normal study or work permit and leave the country within the time of departure order only else, you'll be in a serious mess

yea my friend hopefully!!! what happens with the overstay
