Okay.. I messaged a few people to ask about my situation but I just thought I'd post a topic too instead.

I'm planning on going to Canada in April. I was there last year in June till July and I had a 6 month single visa.

*I was gonna go in December again and I had a visa valid from December till January. However, I did not go because I had to stay for my mom, because she got sick a few days before my flight and also because of other family reasons. SO now Im applying for a multiple entry visa. I typed a letter which I am going to sign, to explain why I did not use my visa and why I am applying for a multiple.

*I'm still a student and have been since 2008. Last year I failed a second semester subject and now I have to repeat my semester this year starting July (2011). So now I'm not studying my first semester but I am going to my second semester but I have been working for my dad in his store and will do so till when I leave and when I come back in June I will work till July. My dad, also my employer, wrote a letter for me that he will sign, explaining that I am working for him and why I am working (coz I failed my subject last year) and lastly that I will work until I have to leave and will continue when I come back here (South Africa) until my semester starts. I printed out my academic record since 2008 which will show that I failed my subject last year.

Here are my questions that I have:
1) Will they know that I did not use my previous visa?
2) I'm planning on telling them why I did not go to Canada(my mother).
Will the fact that I did not use my previous visa affect me in anyway?

3) Will the fact that I am working for my dad complicate anything?
4) Is what I am including in my application, enough and really necessary?  A friend of mine said it wasn't necessary for the letters. The letters which we wrote, will they be efficient?
5) Will it perhaps help if I included a letter from a professor saying that I will return to complete my semester?

I am really just confused and worried. I want my application to be successful and I want it to be
as perfect as can be. If there is anyone that has knowledge of this, please can you give me any advice on this. Maybe I should formulate everything different and better, maybe include something or exclude something. Whichever. Your advice will be really be appreciated and I'm sure this post might help others too.

Thank you.

No

It may do, but I am not the IO

Always provide as much as you can.

5) Will it perhaps help if I included a letter from a professor saying that I will return to complete my semester?

Always refer to the notes, provide all the proof that is required by CIC.
Supporting documents are better than missing ones.
