my wife has been to her MP and reply is:

Please be advised that this application is still pending review and action from another government department. There is only a marginal possibility that the review will be completed within the next three months

anyone, any idea what does another government department means?

Perhaps they mean CIC?

There's been some issues with MPs/non-MPs (Ruby Dhalla/Parm Gill) getting involved with CIC.

IMO sounds like the letter is saying that the issue is being handled by CIC and the MP isn't going to get involved, but I'm no expert.

Thats what it sounds like to me.. that it seems that they are talking about CIC.   A lot of MPs dont want to get involved unless you are past the processing timelines posted on CIC

thanks guys for your help, I have been waiting since Aug 2010 after my interview to hear from them but nothing yet. Embarrassed

whenever I inquire through email they say background checks are pending.

we had a correspondence with CSIS about my background check and they said it was done on Feb 2011.

I do not know what else they are waiting for. really embarrassedddddddddddddd
