To all who are planning to attend pala the CIIP Seminar given by IOM (yung voluntary pre-departure seminar ng Canada with free snacks unlike PDOS :p) - baka po pala may gustong sumabay sa amin ni Irene, sa May 4, Wednesday kami naka-schedule. By experience, wala masyadong new stuff na matututunan sa PDOS so Irene and I think its better we attend this one also kahit hindi required. Please see details below.


IOM Seminars: Canadian Orientation Abroad (COA)

Participants:  voluntary for all Filipinos leaving the country as temporary workers under the Live-in Caregiver Program or in any permanent resident category

Length: one full day

Where: IOM office on the 24th Floor of the Citibank Tower Bldg. at 8741 Paseo de Roxas, Makati City

Cost: free-of-charge

Program:  In the seminars, one will learn about the nature of the Canadian society, common problems of adaptation faced by newcomers, the rights and obligations of temporary workers and immigrants, the Canadian health and educational systems, how to find a job, how to look for a place to live in, the cost of living, and facts about the city in which you will be living in.

While attendance in these seminars is not mandatory, there are a lot of benefits that can be obtained in attending it. It will give you a lot of information on skills necessary for a successful adaptation in Canada; reliable information on issues and concerns regarding Canadian labor laws, contract expiry/extension, permanent resident status, sponsorship; and practical tips about life in Canada.

Gingerific, mylene negative sputum but needs culture for 2 months pa, then re xray after 1 month na malaman result ng culture.  Ang kakatawa eh pinag tetake ako ng gamot for 2 months para lang daw sure. Hassle sobra kasi yong pinagtanggalan ng gamot na iinumin mo eh need mong ipunin at ipakita sa kanila... Then take din daw ng vitamin B... Ano ba yan??? Ok lang mag intay, but the feeling na parang may TB ka pumapasok sa isip ko eh... I don't smoke, I don't drink, bakit ganon? Sa work hindi naman sobrang pagod. Resign na resign na ko kasi ayokong abutan ng darating na bagong jet ng company, eh they will send me to another training, matatali ako sa work.. Yong mga friends kong doctor one in saying na exage ang st. lukes sa xray result..... Pls include me in your prayers mga kaibigan....
