Hi everyone! dito na po ako sa manitoba.. left the pinas friday the 13th... for the superstitious thanks to you, maluwag ang pila ng 1st time immigrant.. wala pila wait lang ako ng 2 minutes max.. ha ha..... what's unlucky for you, is a fortunate event for us.. he he

immigration officer is not strict  i guess.. they didn't even take my luggage declaration.. was asked simple questions if i got jailed and 3 more similar stuff.. then that's it.. then the immigration officer even tried to scare me saying that this final interview will determine if i am admissible to canada.. then i laughed a bit.. he he.. then the officer got a bit offended.. but i didn't care.. he he. he said "seriously" he he.. i just smiled.. then after few minutes he said.. you are now a permanent resident.. ganun lang.. he he

for those expecting scenic views and fabulous place, for me po, hindi po iyon ang winnipeg, manitoba.. it is good na even before i left the philippines wala ako expectations dito..i was kinda expecting the worst he he.. kung di lang dahil dito sa forum diko ma appreciate pag punta dito.. merond din syempre mga benefits.. and sa dami ng gustong makarating dito, that made me want to go here.. kasi swerter na nga ako at may opportunit..

dito, mukang subic lang na malamig... wala tall buildings.. wa ha ah.. corny ang mga parties he he so far, .. guess this place is really for the people raising family.. but if you are single like me boring.. wa ha ah.. parang la life dito.. he he

But i thank God that i am finally here... i'll just try to be productive here and explore the small wonders that this place may offer.. as of now. it is just my day 1 going 2, i am pretty bored already!!! wa ha ah...

nothing special about the flight.. pag baba mo vancouver it is easy to follow direction kung saan pupunta.. for 1st time immigrant kanan lang laki naman ng sign board and meron nag aasist.. after nun, kunin lang luggage pag labas ng room.. tapos,  i deposit nyo muna ung luggage nyo for winnipeg.. ask nyo kung pwede labas muna, wag kayo dumerecho security kasi pag pag pasok nyo dun sa mga gates mga kainan sa loob mahal ang bilihin.. labas ulit kayo dun sa kinuhanan nyo carousel, mura mga food dun.. around $2 solve ka na.. versus $7 sa loob after security.. para sa kuripot lang po to. like me.. he he.. sayang din money.. pag air canada mag dala po kayo earphone, di libre bilin nyo pa ng $30 isa.. kaya ako nagdala ko earphone ko saka food sa domestic flight.. mahal kasi food sa plane saka drinks.. he he. kuripot ba? wa ha...

ung papunta na just enjoy it.. at just be relax..  nothing much to watch out for naman.. he he

thank u for the input pinoy2manitoba...kwento ka pa ulet ha

  @   jamlouise,

its almost three years since nagsubmit ako ng application sa canada.
i doubt kung maalala ko pa exactly ang process and since nagbabago ang  sistema it may not apply to you as new applicant. like ielts some say its not required but some say it is.

lets ask our co-forumers who has just lodged their applications.

dont worry everyones here are more than willing to share all of our experience.

 Cheesy

Thank you so much I was able to join in this  forum whose members are very open to give advices ( yan ang galing ng PINOY) now it is more clear to me  yes it is really expensive to take IELTS . Enough na yong na charge ako with my 1st IELTS (2008) got 7 b. score.
- with regards to my sponsor  my mothers cousin it is not his first time to sponsor a pamangkin of him who is a son/daughter of his cousin i  just want to clear up to what degree lang ba ang matatawag na close relative?  pls need your advice again. .. and one thing as to my proof of fund (prin. $10,000/ other member $2,000) is it fixed even my sponsor will secure an affidavit of support for me

hello joel,

1. the MPNP MDOC Checklist for Family Support Stream (latest posted in the MPNP website) indicates the requirement below:

section 2: education, training and employment documents
              - English AND/OR French Language Ability
copies of educational testing, AND/OR employment documents demonstrated ability in either or both official language(s) for principal applicant and spouse AND international language testing system (IELTS) test results

nung panahon po na ako ay nag-apply, dun sa version ng MDOC checklist na ginamit ko (year 2009), wala po yung phrase na "AND international language testing system (IELTS) test results". kaya po hindi ako nag-IELTS exam. but now, it shows that required na nga sya.

2. if you cannot show (or you have less amount) yung required proof of funds, then ask your relative to fill out (page 2 ata yun) of the MAS form, this is how it is stated in the MPNP website also:

If you cannot demonstrate that you have sufficient settlement funds (explained in the application kit) your close relative must complete the Declaration of Financial Support By Close Relative section of the Manitoba Affidavit of Support (MAS) form.

important that you have liquid asset in your name kahit hindi mo maabot yung 10k. i stand corrected on this part as advised by PaiChan.

3. when you have a family kasi, automatic when you apply as a principal applicant kasama din sila sa application. remember that Canada promotes the family. sigurado yun they will ask you bakit hindi mo gusto isama family mo sa pag-alis mo.
unless na lang in cases when for example you have been separated from them and you really do not intend to bring them ipo-prove mo na talagang hiwalay ka na/kayo and magsasubmit ka ng legal letter stating that they will not join you in Canada for that reason.
one possibility is ito, once you and your family get your VISAs, you can land in Canada first na hindi kasama ang family mo for the purpose of ensuring na maka-settle ka muna or makahanap ng apartment at work and then saka susunod ang wife and kid mo. pero yun nga, sabay sabay pa din kayo mabibigyan ng VISA nun.

for those who have actual experience on this, kindly share your inputs and kindly correct my statements kung may sablay (would really appreciate it!)  Cheesy

Hi Jamlouise,

I advise you to meet the $10,000/$2,000 proof of fund requirement of MPNP. If you cannot demonstrate that you have sufficient settlement funds your close relative must complete the Declaration of Financial Support By Close Relative section of the Manitoba Affidavit of Support (MAS) form." Negative pa din response nila. They just advised me to reapply once okei na daw funds ko.

By the way, the same thing happened to my cousin's application. Magkasunod lang kasi kami nag apply last year.

Thank you so much to all who gave their advice. it is really a great help to all aspiring applicants. by the way my 1st cousin their entire family will be leaving na this 12th of june we have the same sponsor.  @ paichan don sa financial fund mo that you submitted base ba sa certificate mo below$10,000 ang naka stipulate?  @ gingerific yes you are right canada is family oriented. as for IELTS "the phrase indicate and/or.. so  isnt it we (applicants) are given an option bec. of the word "AND/OR".  I'll stand to be corrected Like in a bank if we open an accnt which is joint accnt. the choice is ours if it is  AND/OR if "and" it is a must that any transaction be signer by both party But if "Or" it is acceptable to transact any one of the signatory pls comment on this.....

I had fun reading your posts...Expected nadin nmin yan since Manitoba is known as " Lake of the Prairies " Obviously puro lakes and Prairies meaning " Treeless Grassland " ...I want peace of mind kya i think suitable sakin ang lugar, ewan lang sa hubby ko, mainipin kasi yun. LOL

Im preparing myself for a PURE WORK there. That wouldn't be a problem i guess, I want a peaceful, quiet, and boring life. LOL
