Since you guys are under family stream, I think you are fine and should not be concerned about it. Coz You do not really need to score much. And infact, more points are awarded to you coz u got a family here right?

While the mpnp general stream applicants in my thinking, should be able to satisfy that they'll be employable here in Manitoba.. Even if you are registered nurse in the Philippines, you won't be able to practice your profession here right away.. Most go through additional classes before they are allowed to take the exam to qualify as RN here.. There is someone I know though who simply 'challenged' it and luckily passed the exam.. That was then though, I am not sure about now.

IT specialist, procurement officer etc, those jobs are not regulated. So those applicant whose intended occupation is not regulated should have an easier time to convince evaluating officer that they'll be employed here in Manitoba.. That's just my thinking, that's why I am hoping to encounter someone from here, with similar intended occupation and similar occupation, who received a letter of approval and Is under general stream.

Thanks

hi actually i am new here i jus applied mpnp under family stream . my wife is d main applicant n she is a registered nurse ... my consultant told me its ok.... wat makes u think dat they will not give favorable decision??? plzz share

Yep you are under family stream because of the blood relation and only require one signature of Manitoba supporter.  Regardless if you or your wife, it doesn't matter. You'll still be considered under family stream because of your blood relation.  As a married couple you are considered as one, in a way.. He he.

Regarding the exam, from what I read it is difficult not because it covers broader medical technicalities, rather it has more of canadian cultural related questions.  So they say that review classes are necessary before the exam. I just picked this up from a different blog. I am not so sure if applies to Manitoba right now. Just sharing my thoughts.

Hi, is there anyone here who was awarded letter of approval, whose intended occupation here in Manitoba is being a nurse/ practical nurse or anything related to it?

Coz we are helping another friend of ours, who is a registered nurse in the Philippines.. I am just not sure if his occupation is something that the mpnp will give favorable decision..

Thank you.

Hi. I think being a nurse as a profession is a good reason to be considered by the MPNP. Accdg to my readings and the experiences of people I know, even if it is a regulated profession, nurses (particularly those coming from the Phils.) do not go thru very stiff requirements compared to other regulated professions like doctors, dentists, engineers, etc. It is easier for them to practice their profession compared to others. But yes they have to go thru some kind of bridging programs or requirements that will make their education and training at par with Canadian standards. Nurses are one of the most highly employable professions in Manitoba. As long as he meets the other eligibility requirements of MPNP, I am sure his application will be okay.

That's what I heard too.. I think internationally they need a 7 band IELTS.. That's what my friend in UK has told me as well. Sorry I don't have a straight answer to this. We better research from the official website. Smiley

Hi Pinoy,

I think to clear Reg. Nurse test, u need 7 bands in ielts in each module? m i right ?

Regards

Hello everyone Smiley I am a registered nurse here the Philippines. My documents are with my sponsors in Winnipeg just last week. They will submit it this coming week. They are my father's cousins, so I will be applying under General Stream with Nurse as my intended occupation.

As a nurse, I know that I can not start my profession immediately in Canada. My credentials need to be assessed by a regulating body in Manitoba called CRNM (College of Registered Nurses in Manitoba). One of their requirements is the IELTS Academic Module. Last July 2011 they require higher scores for each band, LISTENING 7.5. WRITING 7.0, READING 6.5 and SPEAKING 7.0. In other provinces they require different scores in IELTS.

Nowadays, I think it is a requirement to take the CCA (Clinical Competency Assessment). This will determine if how long will you do the bridging program. After this, you will be eligible to take the CRNE (Canadian Registered Nurse Examination). This examination can only be taken three times.

Before, I am also hesitant to put Nurse as my intended occupation since it is a regulated job but I read forums that there are number of applicants who applied to MPNP with Nurse as their intended occupation and they got LOA and soon migrated to Canada. Thinking about the Federal Skilled Worker route, Nurse is also included on the in-demand lists of occupations. I think they know that in time we can help them with the shortage of nurses in their country.

While doing the process of becoming a nurse, we can work as healthcare aide. Then, while preparing for the exam once eligible, we can work as a graduate nurse. And finally, to work as nurse once we passed the exam and register.

To all the nurses who are applying to MPNP and to all other applicants, Good luck and God bless us all Smiley

Hope to see you here soon tweety!! Definitely you'll be one of the well off people here pretty soon. As for the intended occupation I suggested to my friend to write down nurse and other related jobs.  I remember when I applied before I simply wrote any computer related job, just to make my intended occupation a little broader.. Anyway, it was just my thinking.  But I guessed it did work, since I am now here.. Hope to see you soon Smiley

Hi all,

I have asked to submit for additional documents from MPNP office. I applied under General Stream together with my second cousin and her husband's sponsor letter. They are living in winnipeg for more than 10 years. Now immigration office required the proof of my cousin past ten years living in Winnipeg. I am wondering whether I need to submit the additional what they are asking for or re-apply all the application procedure again. thanks all.

Hope someone can take down my worry.

Hi guys
im planning to visit Manitoba this year under International Experience Canada program with open Work Permit valid for 12 months.
I did some research about my possibilities of extending my work permit or even chances of obtaining permanent residency.
Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program seems to be only way in my case.
I also found some information about general labour shortages around province.
Because of my previous experience i think about working as a food server.
I have approximately 3 years experience in the hospitality sector in UK.
Hospitality Sector because these positions are low skilled.
it's understandable for me this whole process is going to be a great challenge for me and for my future employer as well.

I read all PNP requirements but I have a few questions :

I'd like to know if a Low Skilled (for example food server) can apply for MPNP.
Does MPNP applicants have to obtain LMO after working for six months in Manitoba ?

I will be grateful for all informations you can provide

Best Regards
