Hi Guys,

I thought I would share my timeline and share some information about my Sponsor's Interview

Timeline:

Category: MPNP Family Stream

Date of Application: 27/04/2011
Temp File Number/ Doc Requested: 18/07/2011 (Dated 30/06/2011)
Addl Docs Sent: 20/07/2011 (via Email)
Sponsor Interview: 26/10/2011

Ok, so the above mentioned is my time line, my sister is my sponsor, she was asked the following questions:

* What is your brother's current occupation?
* How long has he been working for that company?
* Do you have any relatives outside of Manitoba?
* What is your current occupation and your husband's occupation?
* What way would you be able to support you brother if he moves to Manitoba?
* Are there any other relatives in Canada outside of Manitoba?
* What is your brother's highest qualification?
* How do you think your brother would be able to adjust to Canada?

My brother-in-law sponsored his brother last year, so they also asked the whereabouts of him and whether he has found a job.

So, basically these are the kind of questions you can expect for a Sponsor Interview, Hope this helps guys...   Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Also, I would like to know what happens next? Is the next step for me to get LOA? If so, how long would it take from the time the Sponsor Interview is done. Looking forward to hearing from you guys. Have a good one peeps.. Cheers

Hello manubobby,

Your sponsor will receive your LOA after 1-2weeks of the phone interview. This is the fastest timeline. Some of the applicant's received the LOA in 1 month time or may be more than 1 month.

After that your sponsor will post the completed application kits for you. You must submitted your application together with the original LOA to your local Canadian Embassy.

Thanks. Hope this help.

Good Luck!

Hi Kidrobot,

THank you so much for your reply.. just concerned as to if there has been any rejections after sponsor interview, my sister got really nervous with the interview, so she got confused a bit when asked about my experience and stuff, and when asked when we could here about the LOA, they said a second officer needs to review my file, and will get back to us in a months time, now im getting really worked up, is there a possibility for rejection? Have you come across someone who has been rejected after sponsor interview? Do keep in touch. Cheers

Hello manubobby,

As long as you & your sister meet their requirement, there should be no problem. So far i didn't saw any member in this forum says that they got rejected.  Be patience is what we can do.

Good Luck!

I would like to ask regarding sponsorship.  I have a pending application with Manitoba Provincial Nomination Program under General Stream and my sponsors are my sister and my brother-in-law. Currently, my sister is planning to resign from her current job.  Would that affect in anyway on my application? Are they both required to have a job? Is it necessary that both of them are currently employed?  What if they just transferred to other company? would that be a set-back?  What if their household income is more than enough to cover the required amount 'coz my bro-in-law is an architect?

Need you help guys!!!!

Thanks everyone!

Hello Olanzky. General Stream and Family Support Stream are 2 different streams under MPNP, therefore don't confuse yourself. Since you applied under General Stream of MPNP the following factors must be met: 1. You must provide 2 affidavits of supports, each completed by a close friend or distant relative in Manitoba ( This is one of the eligibility Requirements). And don't forget that applicants with close relatives in Manitoba should only apply to the Genral Stream if they do not meet the eligibility criteria for family support assessment stream.

In addition, you must also satisy the MPNP officials that :
   2. you can be assessed sufficient points ( i.e. 55 points)
   3. having the training, work experience and language ability necessary for long term employment in Manitoba.
   4. have demostrates a clear ability and intention to establish permanently and successfully i n Manitoba.
   5. and in view of your question, you must enough settlement funds on your name.

If all these factors are met by you I don't think you will have problem despite the chanlenges of your sponsors. Best regards.
