We have the same case. Let's monitor our case together. Good luck
Hi Everyone,

Application progress so far

Application submitted: 17-11-2011
Response from MPNP online: 22-11-2011 (Technical problem with in the online system thats why the file number till date is not sent)
Response from MPNP online: 30-11-2011 (File number received)

Question 1: Does the reception of file number means that my documents are complete?
Question 2: How long it usually takes to have the nomination letter by mail?

I applied through family support stream.

waiting to hear everybody's experience.

Cheers,

Ameer

Hi guys. Just sharing my timeline for mpnp online application. This is my 1st time to post in this forum.

Nov 19, 2011 - submitted my online application

Nov 21, 2011 -  received email from mpnp, acknowledging their receipt of my application, but due to technical reasons, no file number yet

Nov 23, 2011 - mpnp emails my relative regarding my application. mpnp also asked relative                   to accomplish settlement plan part 2

Nov 25, 2011 - I got my file number from mpnp

My relative has not yet been contacted again by mpnp so far regarding my application.

So far I have not yet received any email from mpnp whether I have some additional docs to submit. Hopefully there are no more lacking documents.

The online process is really much faster that by mail. Mail applications usually takes about 1 1/2 to 2 months before you get acknowledgement of receipt and a file number if the application package is complete. Incomplete packages are returned to the Phils without a file number. In the online process, we get acknowledgement right away (via automated system) and we receive our file number in a few days. The website of Manitoba says family stream applications via online takes 3 months to process while 6 months if via mail. That is assuming that there will be no additional documents that they would request from us. Otherwise there would be some delays.

Good luck to all of us. Keep posting your experiences.

two reasons for choosing this destination in manitoba ?

any idea in answering this question?

You are being asked why you chose this particular place in Manitoba to settle. Manitoba is very big. The MPNP wants to know whether you will settle in Winnipeg, the capital and biggest city, where most people including immigrants settle, or to other smaller rural towns. They want to know your reasons why you would want to settle in that particular area.

Hope this helps answer your question.

Hi. Just an honest opinion. I think it is better to just find ways of increasing your settlement funds like having a loan or something, rather than applying just for yourself and wait for your other family members to apply and be approved on a much later date. For me I cannot bear the fact that I would be migrating without my family. Migrating takes a lot of psychological adjustment and I think it is best for the family to move as one rather that on an "installment" basis. If you leave your family behind, they would still face the same problem of coming up with adequate settlement funds for each member. So, just deal with the issue once. It may take some more time but it may be much worth the wait than seeing them being left behind.

Just my thoughts. You don't have to agree with me.
