I am a retired British citizen currently holding a United Staies"green card" and residing in that country
I would like to purchase a residence in Canada and eventually take up permanent residence  in NB or PEI.
I am in excellent health with no criminal record whatsoever.
Are there any possible obstacles I may encounter in my endeavours.?

1.  Yup, there is no retired class for Canadian immigrants, so to live permanently you will have either qualify as a skilled worker or investor.
2.  You could become a seasonal resident, and spend 6 months of the year in Canada, but note that you would not be covered by health insurance.
