Moving to areas other than ontario !

Does getting immigration of canada at this point of time hold any kind of attraction in itself.Specially professionals like engineers, dont look like to be much in demand out there.Secondly does there exixt any program for individuals who dont want to move to already conjested provinces like ontario rather prefer to move towards areas with less congestion and more job opportunities plus with overall less living cost.Please do share as i am in the process of making up my mind for immigration and want to apply soon as a mechanical engineer with already having a reasonably good job at hand in saudi arabia.

Have you considered moving to the Prairie Provinces?  Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba having vibrant economies with many jobs for trained engineers. Once you qualify as an engineer in Canada, there are many job opportunities.

With respect to moving to provinces outside of Ontario, as a Federal Skilled Worker, you can move to any province but Quebes.  Moreoever, each province has its own provincial nomination program (PNP) to immigrate to that specific province.

I agree with gte439u, Canadian Prairies provinces like Alberta and Manitoba have less population than Ontario with almost the same level of services (specially BC & Alberta) and many job opportunities.

Immigration to Canada is always about exploiting new opportunities, if u know what I mean.

So, u may head to PN Programs to find more about their offered opportunities.

The economy is less robust in Quebec than in the rest of Canada.  You have to have French as your first language to immigrate to Quebec, as well.

I am not incorrect.  I have lived in Canada for three years, and I read the Globe and Mail and the National Post every day.  Quebec is in a poorer fiscal position thant the other provinces due to its higher levels of provincal debt.  Its economy grows at a slower rather than the broader Canadian economy.  Levels of taxation are higher in Quebec than in other provinces, too.

One should not over look the fact that its economic situation is more precarious than the rest of Canada. 

Quebec has much to offer immigrants, especially those who speak fluent French.  Quebec has a vibrant aerospace industry.  Quebec has numerous corporate headquarters. Quebec has a sophisticated electricity sector.  Quebec has a vibrant arts scene.  Quebec has a great deal to offer immigrants despite its fiscal issues.

Easy..I also live in Canada and I saw the level of services and the standard of life in Quebec and the difference between them and those in provinces like Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

Montreal is the second economical city in Canada after Toronto. economical districts in both cities host many canadian and international headquarters.
The banking and financing sector is the most active in all over Canada. (La Bourse EX)
The salaries in Quebec are as high as those in Ontario (considering profession differences). The consumer financing systems are even more than those in Ontario, and thus the houses prices for example are less.

To sum, Quebec has a strong economy and even precede those of Alberta (the oil province) and BC (tourism & hospitality industry province).

Check FT or BBW to verify that.
