Hello,

I wonder if anyone has an opinion on this:

My husband (the sponsor, Canadian born) will be taking a few of my boxes (university books, personal books, some personal souvenirs, a few kitchen things, only two coats - NO furniture or anything expensive)  across the border into Canada.  I will not be with him.  We are about to file the docs for PR (outland).  Do you think he will have problems at the border?  Can he just say these are mine?  There is really nothing valuable moneywise in there, just stuff of personal value ....  He will be traveling in his own van, not a u-haul or anything like that.

Thanks,

I wonder if he tells them they are his things from when he stayed at your place, and he's bringing them home, if that would work. I don't know about having to pay duty on it.
