Is there a rule which IELTS score to use?
«

Hi,
in my recent inquiry to IELTS center, i was told that now candidates may take IELTS as often as they want unlike the 90 days waiting time before.
question is, if it happen that the 2nd ielts score is lower than the first one, can I use and declare the higher score (which is the 1st test) ?
or is there a rule that we must use only the most recent one?
thanks

If you submit both, the most recent one will be used. and remember, they will consider the whole set of band scores together not the highest ones from different tests.

Hi,
so this means that all depends on which test result we will use and send ? they will not check anyway right and there is no way for them to know?
if this is the case, then I don't see any problem.

The only thing is it should be General IELTS and scores are not expired. For Immigration purpose, the scores are expired in a years time!

Well, you have to apply within a year of taking IELTS if you want to use that IELTS for your immigration. The IELTS stays valid for your processing as long as it was less than a year old when you applied.

Hi SkilledPro,
I checked on IELTS website and it is mentioned that you can sit anytime.
Well, I never checked on website because as everybody was saying that there is 90 days limit. this rule is effected from 2006 which I found at some forum.
Thanks for dropping this topic or else I never came to know about this earlier.

Hi Canadp,
actually i haven't check the IELTS website yet. But what i did was to inquire at the IELTS test center administrator. She said that before it used to be 90 days. Atleast now i know that I still have chances to take after a week or 2 if I'm not satisfied with the test result.
can you give the ielts link where you read it?
thanks,
