I recently applied for FSW 1
I did a stupid mistake in Background Declaration form.
In Schedule 1 Question 9 - Have u ever applied for visitor visa or any other visa before? I answered NO but I do have a visitor Visa and a study visa.
My fault - I didnt read the question carefully.....
I already sent the forms - now how should I correct this mistake??

for sydney, i think there is nothing you can do about it. If you have sent your application to your visa office, I would fax them as soon as possible stating your mistake, and a new form and mail it to them too.
What do other's think

I am not an expert at Canadian Immigration. Please don't expect me to answer if your post title has urgent in it and it is not really urgent. Urgent is 911 or you have a definite deadline tomorrow, not that you would like to send in the application soon

If the visa office part has gone through, you should definitely let them know asap. I did read on this forum that someone recently got AINP denied due to mistake on answering the same question.
If you have sent to Sydney only, if possible send them a letter and a new application form but they may not have a way to link your application to your letter. Depending on when you sent your application to Sydney, they might have already processed it. I did read on this forum that it is okay to correct mistakes when sending in an application to Sydney as long as it doesn't change the nature of your application.

send a new application form with the change and a letter ASAP, send it fast. I don't think they would have started processing yours but like new2canada said, someone did get rejected on this (i thought it was you for AINP).
Send today or tomorrow. Make sure you explain in a letter what the changes are.. Good luck.
I am no expert but this is what I would do if I were in your situation.

Yes You need to send a new application with corrections and a cover letter explaining your mistake on previous app. If you don't you might end up be rejectec Good Luck.

Dont send them a new application but just send them an explanation and request them to correct that area.......and Secondly when u submit your full application you can correct and prove all that with your documents.

i am not discouraging you but....there is a big difference between mistake and mis- representation. they wont consider this mistake.... anyway send them fax by explaining that error before they find it themselves...it MIGHT work

I agree with Ra00. They might see it as mis-representation but you telling them up front is always better. Thats what I feel too.

I would say misrepresentation is when u never tell them by yourself....I have told them by myself...it is just like missing a question... anyways things are already in Buffalo....lets see what happens...till then I am worried....

my vistor and study permits were not rejected till date. i have them in my passport and i have been to Canada for those purposes...so why would i mis-represent when they were not rejected. But I know, it is not us who make the decision, it is the officer who looks at the case...God please help me....

I am sure you'll be fine. Just make sure you contact them before they evaluate you. That is the most important part of this step. Good luck.
