Minimum number of days reqd in Canada to complete landing formalities

Hello,

Currently we are in US and plan to complete the landing process in March, 2011. We will have to come back to US at the earliest after completing the landing formalities and re-enter Canada at a later date. Some time in 2012.

What are the processes which I must need to complete upon landing?
What is the minimum number of days reqd to stay in Canada for the landing to complete the processes? Is there any rule?

Any guidance will be much appreciated.

What are the processes which I must need to complete upon landing? Obtain SIN, Health card depending on where you land, Opening of Bank Account
What is the minimum number of days reqd to stay in Canada for the landing to complete the processes? Technically one day. That's just to ensure the immigration officer applies for the PR Card for you. All other formalities can be concluded in 3days. Is there any rule? Not at all. You must have address where you can get a PR Card sent to.
