The experience will apparently vary from doctor to doctor and patient to patient. if you have no relevant medical history (High blood pressure, Diabetes, STDs etc), it should be a straight forward process. Specifically, mine consisted of a Blood pressure, heart rate, height and weight measurement, eye test, hearing test, oral and throat examination and urine test with a dipstick to check for glucose, proteins  (can't remember the last thing) in urine.(Please make sure you drink lots of water about 3 days before the test, so you don't get a false positive urine test; just an advice).
Thereafter, you'll go for a chest x-ray, as well as a blood test for HIV and syphilis.
That's all I can remember, p'haps someone else can share their experience.
