Having reviewed the status of my friends from GCC, I concluded that unfortunately the process for GCC residents in London is too slow. The first example is me myself, my application was submitted since 01 July 2008 which is now 13 months and am waiting for Medical. The complete documentation package was submitted on 19th March 2009 (5 Months already passed).

Most of the GCC applicants who applied in the same batch are still waiting. Rarely i have heard anyone got Medical or stamp on passport (GCC Residents). The FSW process is sluggish by its own style. Previously applicants used to wait for full documents to be submitted, now they wait after submitting them.
I feel that we should have applied from our country of birth.
Any comments?

Iqama will be basis for CIC for the assigning of your local visa office to process your application. Your school documents and their employment certificate are their basis for your educational qualification and not the iqama.

Has anyone in Middle East receive his letter for Medical when the 60 days notification is already over? I suspect this to happen with the sluggish postal service in Middle East. I'm afraid who will get trapped.

Well, it has been 162 since I have submitted full documents to London Office and till now there is no news of Medical Request... I had sent a mail to CHC-London asking whether they had sent any correspondence which might have lost on the way, they had confirmed that they have not sent any mail and my file is awaiting processing.

My eCAS status has been showing IN PROCESS since last Aug 2008.

mjm,

Please share in this forum if you can get reply from CIC. You applied ahead of me, so this could happen to me as well.

Thanks.

A very important question flash my mind.

Should we in Middle East be sending our documents and application with return envelop from DHL, FEDEX, TNT etc (courier service) so that in case they wish to send us Medical request etc , we should be able to receive it quicker. Instead of waiting for ordinary post, which usually takes 2 months.

Is anyone in Middle East applying this formula. If yes please share how to do it?

I just confirmed from reliable sources that return courier envelop from DHL, FEDEX, UPS, TNT is only allowed when you ae sending your passports from Middle East to London office and they'll stamp visa and return you the Passports in the return envelops.

For the rest of the process they do not recommend the return courier envelops.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Pammi for your reply, however I've another question.

Do you have any experience with Medical, What they usually check during the process and if any complications are associated? Do you underwent through the Medical in your country of residence?

Thanks Pammi for the details but as you know the lifestyle of expatriates in Middle East >Home>Office>Home>office
I've developed a bit of high level cholesterol 5.56 and blood sugar level 7 and my BMI is 26.

Although i started exercise and strict diet control but Could you advise what effect these readings may have on the Canada Immigration Medical results benchmarks.

Thanks.
