anybody from KSA who already received their passport request? coz i will be sending our passports, but i am a little confused as to how i can have them back. the instruction was to include a self addressed envelope. and due to postal situation in KSA, passports will be returned by courier. but i read once that we are the one to shoulder the charges for the return of passports. anybody in here who has sent his/her pp to london lately? how did you manage to send/receive your pp. thanks in advance

Hi Biplo
My file status since September 2009 is still received by visa office. About 9 months in this status.
I would like to know during these 9 months whether the visa office did the office screen my papers and did some work on my file such as checking my points, background check, security check so I assume I have passed 67 points or the office did not start any review work.
I appreciate your reply my brothers.

aspire, Did you sent enquiry email to the CHC london? Since you are 2009 applicant med request shouldnt take longer. I am in KSA too and I am worried about the postal system here. heard that Medical post will be sent thru normal post from London which is very unreliable in KSA
goodluck david
I sent inquiry twice already. I received replies for both. They said my file is waiting for an IO's review. I have ordered CAIPS notes. Though my e cas status is "in process" since July 2009, my CAIPS indicates I have earned 67 points. PSDEC is 1, meaninng I passed the paper screening. The most frustrating part is that the BFD (Bring Forward date) is set on March 25, 2011. Yes, its 2011, considering that my application falls under the so called new rules, this is really surprising. I got my CAIPS last January 2010. Just the other day, I ordered CAIPS again hoping to see any development with my case. I am expecting to receive my second CAIPS notes between July 2-July 12, 2010.

With London visa office, you cannot base the real status of your application based on the e cas status. They are most of the time outdated. "Received by Visa office" in some other visa offices means as it is being said. They acknowledge the receipt of your full application package and a review of its eligibility and assessment of points is yet to be done by the IO. CAIPS is the most reliable answer to your question. But as early as now, I wont recommend you to order CAIPS.

Thanks Aspire for the reply,
The visa office is Cairo office. Nine months since the complete documents were received by the VO and the status did not change from "received by visa office".
At Nova Scotta the CIO verified the job if it is one of the 38 NOC listed ones.
At visa office, do u think on receipt of a complete documents they do not verify the points scored (which one hour job) then if it is not ok they inform the applicant and close the file so no unwanted files build up or if the points are ok (67) the file can be put in the queue and later verify the documents reliability/background/security.
If someone have an idea please help.

UPDATE WITH MY CASE
After 11 months from submission of full documents and after 10 months from the date my e cas status changed to in process, I received a document request from CHC London yesterday. Letter is dated May 5, 2010. My wife is the principal applicant and CHC asked us to submit photocopies of my (spouse) certificate + transcript of records for my bachelor's degree. These documents were already submitted to them 11 months ago. Well, I don't have any choice but to comply. I sent these documents yesterday.
BFD IS NOT WHAT WE THINK IT IS? In December 2009, I ordred CAIPS notes which I received in January 2010. And from that CAIPS I found out that the “Bring Forward Date' BFD was set on March 25, 2011. I thought I won't be hearing anything from them before the BFD but it turned out that the IO opened my file between January 2010 and May 5, 2010. Certainly they did, because they sent us the request for documents.
I DID SOMETHING THAT FORCED THEM TO OPEN MY FILE?
Sometime in the last week of March 2010, I sent them the request to change our intended destination province from Ontario (originally written in our application) to Manitoba. Together with the request, I attached the letter from the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (Nursing Regulating Body of Manitoba) that they had assessed my educational credentials (Bachelor's degree in Nursing) and found it to be equivalent to that of Canadian Standards and had given me one year to sit for the Canadian Registered Nurse Examination. We asked them to expedite our application to bear the deadline set by CRNM. I think because of this they opened my file way before the BFD set?
ANY OPINION PLEASE...
Why did they ask again the same document which I already had submitted? From today how many months will I receive my medical request? Any opinion will be most welcomed and thanked.

Aspire, I think this is a good omen. At least your knocking got heard.
Don't get depressed with resending the documents. In fact it appears to me that your case is now ready to be handled in couple of weeks. I guess that your previous file could have been in another office pending for submission to London office in 2011, but after you wrote them they decided to take action themselves.
Also please let us know of the result of CAIPS notes as it will give us a very mindful insight.
