Hi, I am also in Doha right now. You do not need the copy of RP and passport be attested. You can submit the photocopies but make sure it's all clear copy. Maybe seniors can add to your query..Good luck.

Guys what do you think after the melt down of DUBAI? The govt is in huge debt of $80Billion.

The employers are downsizing and many fellows getting redundant, Will CHC London look into the matter and make the process faster before we pack up for elsewhere.

I have a sad feeling for our fellows who are in very tight conditions not knowing what to do while their file is in CHC London.

Friend, it is Not the Govt. 'Dubai World' is a pvt entity. And the case is Only abt Real Estate. Which is same as everywhere. While Dubai situation is actally better that the rest of the planet.

Moreover, there is nothing visiblly wrong here. We are still going abt our businesses in the same situation as before. No major job cut anywhere. In fact, during the last couple of months 600,000 new immigrants have joined the workforce (according Labour Ministry Statistics).

Dubai World is a "Government Owned Commercial Entity". It is a Holding Company and owns many key entities such as JAFZA, Dubai Ports etc. Yes, real estate is the problem but what else is here in Dubai other than real estate and tourism? Dubai is not an industrial or oil rich state.

When a Government Owned entity can not meet its debt obligation and is requesting for restructuring, it definitely means things are much more complicated than we had thought earlier.

What about the banks who lost "Billions" here. HSBC, Standard Chartered, NBAD and NBF are major losers. Would they not cut their cost by layoffs and other methods? What about contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and ultimately labors? They are all a "GONE CASE" I think.

I personally know that in Banking, Real Estate, Shipping and Contracting, hiring is "On Hold". Even if there is a vacancy, they are trying to fill it internally. New hiring has not been done since months... I do not know from where ministry got these figures. When layoff's started Dubai police chief said that they have not found any cars being left behind at Dubai airport when "A couple of My friends" left their cars at dxb airport. This is exactly the same type of statement Smiley

Congratulation xxena!
If may iask, how does London CHC forwarded your passport with visa stamped? Does your ECAS staus change from "In Process" to " Decision Made" before you're received your Visa?
Thank you. I am also waiting for our passport. We've submitted it last Nov. 10, 2009. I am quite worried because my ecas status is still "in Process".
By the way, i am also basd in Doha, Qatar.
