Thought I would come in and say hi.  I am Canadian and sponsoring my Mexican CL partner, however we are applying through Buffalo as he has been legally resident in Canada for the requisite period and has a 10 year entry visa to the US in the event he is called in for an interview.

Any Mexicans applying through Buffalo?  I wonder if we will be asked to interview.

My partner may post from this account as well so if you read two different voices in our posts that's because there are!

Good luck to all y saludos a todos

Cana

Cana:

your husband needs to be legally admitted for at least a year in the US if you want to go through buffalo.   I too have a ten year entry visa to the US and our file was transfered to mexico.
i suggest you go through mexico and save some time.

saludos

miguelre, you can be lawfully admitted to either the US or Canada.  We meet the latter requirement.

See CIC Buffalo's website under "Family Class" for confirmation.

I tried to post a link but I'm not allowed to, but it's easily Googled.

Hi,

We sent in our app around the same time as Kanata and we had to send in a few more docs but also recieved Federal Police request in same notification. I don't think it's takeing to long as before there was the visa issue for Mexicans about 50 % was done in 6 months from what i remember from the cic site a year or so ago for a straight forward application. So now I would expect it to be alittle longer as case loads would be more.

Cheers !!

Ok, as I had mentioned, my husband went for his interview on March 25 2010.  At the end of it the woman said she was okaying the interview and it was positive and he would receive a decision within two months.  Now my husband just received an email stating that on March 25 they sent him a letter requesting Police Certificates which he has not received like any other letters they have mailed.  Normally they email him first to advise him but not this time!
So, what Police Certificates will he need and is this a good sign that they are requesting this???

Please help!

I would imagine it's a good sign, however I wonder where that letter is.  This might be the last bit of the application process- making sure he's not a crazed criminal Smiley  He needs to get certificates from every country he's lived in since turning 18.  So in our case, for example, Miguel has only lived in two places since he was 18 - U.S. and Spain.  These were both quite easy to obtain, and got them back in a reasonable amount of time.  If your husband hasn't moved around a lot, I'm sure this will be an easy task.

After that, hopefully, comes the PPR!

Congrats and good luck!!

miljay, my partner needed police certificates from from the distrito federal and one from every Mexican state he's ever lived in for more than 6 months.

I guess the problem is, is that my husband still hasn't received the letter they sent requesting Police Clearance..they sent it 1 month ago!  I cant seem to get anyone to help me at the embassy.  I want to know if they will send it courier and he can pay for it on his end....i think it's absolutely ridiculous that you can not get a hold of anyone...he needs this letter ASAP as his medicals will expire in May!  So I just sit here and wait....

Watch out on mexico city interviews they are very rude and they always question your applications. when i left the interview i felt smaller than an ant ( hormiga ) they interview you thru a window like if u are a criminal.
