I would leave them in Spanish. A translation done by yourself wouldn't look too authentic, and I don't think you'd want to spend the 70 cents or so per word that a translator charges Wink In the end it's all evidence and most Immigration Officers speak Spanish as well.

I believe it says on the Region specific guide that all documents must be translated into English or French or will basically be disregarded.. We ended up translating a letter that we had notarized by my SO mother from Spanish to English. Very pricey, but didnt want to take the risk of the letter to be disregarded because it was not translated.

The choice is yours.

The choice is yours.

I also would have translated any letters that are neither in English nor French (either officially or unofficially).   You run the risk of them asking for the application or asking LES to translate it and just add time to your application.

Exactly. Plus, we didn't pay 500 pesos to have the document notarized just to be disregarded! haha. IMO the application is expensive enough, whats a few more dollars, lol.

Hi again!

Another quick question: About the Relationship Support Letters...
Must they all be written in English, or can some be written in Spanish as well?

My Canadian wife has received Relationship Support Letters from a few of her friends + her mom (all written in English)... and we were wondering if members of my Mexican family can also write Relationship Support Letters, but obviously in Spanish.

Hey Oscar, i had a letter done in Spanish but all secondary evidence should be submitted with a translation from a certified translator as explained in the guide...  I had a translator in Jalisco do 13 documents for me for 2400 pesos so you should be able to work a decent price out for 1 document I'm sure!
goodluck!

I got an AOR today! I am so thrilled. It has been 80 days. I think approval comes pretty quickly after that but so few members get an AOR that I really don't know what to expect.

Our application says we are moving to Vancouver because that was the plan. Then my dad got a job offer and he and my mom decided to move to Ontario and we decided to as well. All last minute. So I have officially become a resident of Ontario after moving our stuff there and I don't know what to do about my application. I don't want to complicate and slow approval down. And yet this proves I am moving back to Canada. Should I just wait for approval and then notify the VO? The US still considers me a resident because when I returned to California I said I was just visiting the US cause I didn't want to complicate things. Can I be a resident of two countries at the same time? My brain is spinning!

Sorry for repeat info, I am just not sure if my personal situation would be remembered.

AOR and sponsorship approval are different right?

An AOR just tells you your application has been received and on what date. But you get an application number and a UCI number. Then there is a ton of contact info, general info etc.

An email. I was doing something online and it just showed up in my inbox. I was shocked. I thought it was approval but I didn't care. I was so excited for any news.
