I didn´t know you could send a prepaid DHL envelope....If it works for you let me know!  Cause I still haven´t received the official letter for PGR!  It´s been almost a month now!!  I emailed the embassy last week to let them know we haven´t received anything, since it takes them so long to answer!

They did not ask me to send a prepaid envelope for the PGR. Perhaps that is because we had to submit the required information directly to the Canadian Embassy in D.F. We were asked to submit information for the "Informe de Datos Registrales". I think the requirement is a bit different than the "Constancia".

I think the DHL envelope is sent to the embassy so that the embassy can send the letter requesting the PGR to you more quickly.  Because to get the PGR you need the letter from the embassy.

How long did it take you to get your letter?

I actually only received an email (in the beginning of April). They did not mention anything about a letter in regular mail. They told me in the email all of the information to compile and send to the the Canadian Embassy.

200 pesos. It's not like I'll go bankrupt because of that, but it's just that I kind of find the whole "Send us a prepaid envelope to expedite your letter" a bit retarded if it's gonna take just as long as regular mail, and I haven't been able to get an answer here of someone that did the same thing as me.

200 pesos can get me some nice tacos and a few beers.

We sent a prepaid envelope through DHL and it came back to us within 3-4 days.  I think the embassy is closed on Fridays, plus Monday and Tuesday were holidays (not sure if the Canadian embassy esta aprovechando of both CDN and MX holidays!) so depending on when you sent it it could be delayed a bit...I hope you get it soon! Probably early next week.

I hear ya on that one Edgar! This whole process has been a small fortune. We kind of get "nickeled and dimed" to death. It's like $50 here and $100 there.  The  only solace is that it is for a good cause. We will be united with our sweethearts, hopefully sooner than later.

Yes definitely. Without exaggerating I've probably spent close to CAD$3,000 but I don't care about the money, I just want to get this done and over with :/

Thanks Margarita.

I actually gave them the prepaid envelope on May 1st. So if this is my case then next week I should be getting the letter. Smiley

I feel so discouraged tonight. I know I am not the only one. I am heading back to California after 3 weeks in Canada and I feel like it will be so long until I am back. I have been enjoying reconnecting with childhood friends, my grandma, aunt etc and I don't want to leave but I miss my husband. And we still don't even have sponsorship approval and are weeks away still. Sad face.

I know, I feel the same way. In our case, living apart has been very frustrating. Feeling like your life is split in half (in two different countries). But I suppose in the big scheme of things, this time frame will be short compared to the rest of our lives. Let's keep our collective chin up and keep smiling!!! When all else fails, a cup of wine or two can help calm the nerves! Tongue

I need help with payment!

We are applying outland via mexico city and I'm confused as to which fees I pay..
Right of permanent resident fee 490

and I'm confused if I pay the below fees under the family class section or the Spouse and Common Law Partner In Canada Class section?
sponsorship application fee 75
Principal Application Fee 475

it also says at the top of the payment screen " Immigration Applications for Persons in Canada" and we are outside Canada, can I still use the online payment option through CIC?

I found this on the CIC website below.. However when I go to the Mexico City site it says I need to go to the CIC website so I'm just going in a loop.

"If you are applying at an office outside Canada

You can find information on fee payment methods at the website of the visa office (immigration applications) or the Canadian embassy, high commission or consulate (proof of citizenship applications) responsible for your area. Visa and consular offices cannot accept receipts for fees paid in Canada."

anyone??

Hi guys, I´ve been reading all the post in this group and we all definitely are on the same boat, however my case is a little bit different. I had to take the PRRA invitation after the refugee was denied, fortunately we sent our application on january 2011 way before even the refugee was denied. Apparently the sponsorship process has been going perfectly and all on time, and today VO has required a Confirmation of Departure, which I believe is de Certificate of Departure that you get when you have been asked to leave Canada, which I dont have because Im still in Canada waiting for the decision of PRRA.

What should I do?HuhHuh? They mention that this Confirmation of Departure will determine wether I need the AOR or not, although we all know after an order of departure you always need the AOR. My biggest concern is having to withdraw PRRA after 8 months, I believe that would look inconsistent to the officer that approve AOR. Anyways, I dont even know if PRRA can be withdraw or how long it would take since VO as required the Confirmation of Departure within 30 days. I guess I may have to explain VO one more time what is going on with my situation and see what they think, although last time they requested information I explained everything clearly.

I hope anybody knows something about withdrawing PRRA and Confirmation of Departures, thanks guys!

Epasote is actually quote easy to find in the U.S. in places where there is a large Mexican population (i.e. Chicago and Los Angeles). In Toronto, you could try Tierra Azteca on Bloor and Dufferin. They have a lot of authentic food products, fruits and vegetables from Mexico. They also serve an amazing bowl of Menudo on the weekends!

Tierra Azteca
1115 Bloor St W, Unit 2
Toronto
647-435-4098

Thanks for this Americana, we went today and it was great! They even had tomatillos, we were very impressed! We also got dried Epazote and chilies around the corner at La Tortilleria.

Thanks again Cheesy

Hi everybody!
Been a while since I posted on here...

Quick question: Can my wife go back to Canada (just for a short visit) while our sponsorship papers are processing?  (btw, she's a Canadian citizen who's now living with me here in Mexico, and recently got her FM2)
