Hi margarita esperanza!  How long did it take you to get the letter for the PGR once they sent the AOR?  I have been waiting for it to come in the mail since they sent it on April 9th!

Actually they came on the same day...2 separate emails. It seems like the AOR is pretty random for when it arrives.  I heard nothing between sending my application to sponsor (Sept 30) until I was approved as a sponsor, then nothing again til Jan 26 when the AOR arrived in my husband's email.

Did you ever notify the embassy that you quit your job?

No I didn't; I am here temporarily.

GUYS!

GOOD NEWS!!!! (I think, lol)

I just got an email from the embassy requesting the following documents:

1.    Provide our office with an up to day Generic Application (IMM0008 form) http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM0008ENU_2D.pdf

2.    Provide our office with an up to day Schedule A form http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/IMM5669E.PDF

3.    Undergo medical examinations. A set of instructions is attached to this email. You will need to print the medical form and bring the copy to a Designated Medical Practitioner along with four additional photographs for you. Please visit our website to check a list of appointed doctors:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/dmp-md/medicalinfo.aspx?CountryID=2041&CountryName=Mexico

4.    Provide our office with original police certificates from the following places:

- Baja California

- Mexico City (PGR) http://www.pgr.gob.mx/Servicios/Constancia/antecedentes%20registrales.asp

Does this mean that my process is about to finish and that I won't need an ARC? I really hope I don't need one, my dad told me that most likely I won't since they're already asking for the PGR and Medical Exams!

I'm so happy! Time to continue the paperwork!

Edgar, how long is your ban for Canada?

Is there a ban? We left (according to them) with a "Departure order becomes Deportation Order" on May 2008, so 4 years ago. So I don't know if there's a specific time-frame. I know misrepresentation is a two year ban, but that wouldn't apply to me.

The complicated thing is, I emailed them like 3 years ago asking if I needed an ARC to go back, they said I didn't, but that there was an error in the system saying I did, so I traveled to Canada and I was stopped at the airport and sent back because I needed one according to them. So I don't know if I need one or not, but they're not asking for one right now, so hopefully I won't need it!

Also, I just called the DMP and it will cost me 1400 pesos for all the exams, when I first started my application and submitted them they charged me $300 USD, what a ripoff!

Wow, 1400 pesos is actually pretty good! I think you mentioned your in Mexico City? Anyhow, great for you.

On the CBSA site, this is what they say about deportation order: A person who has been removed as a result of a deportation order is permanently barred from returning to Canada. Such people may never return unless they receive written permission from the CBSA.

I was thinking of the Exclusion order which is lifted after two years.

I think since you are permanently barred from entering Canada, you would need an ARC to return, but since your wife is in Canada, you clearly have the right to apply for one. My advice, wait and see, worse comes to worse, you need the ARC.. At least soon this nightmare will all be over and you can get back home to your wife!

Yeah I'm in Mexico City, which has like 4 DMPs so I guess the competition is tough lol Smiley

And yes, that's the same info I have, however CIC also says to never submit a separate ARC, since they always deal with it within the "context of the application" so I'm hopeful they'll hit two birds with one stone! Smiley

These are just some thoughts based on the information available, what I've read, and my experience.  I am not an expert; if you want the facts, cic.gc.ca has a wealth of information.  Good luck with your application!  Hope you have a wonderful day *smile*

Gracias, OhCanadiana! I just have to keep reminding myself that this is a small sacrifice in order to gain something so important!

Have you already gone through the process or are you still waiting?

Thank you! Do you guys recommend to send the remaining documents all at once? Or just start sending them as I complete them?

I ask because I'm obviously waiting for the PGR letter, but I already made an appointment with the DMP, my dad is working to get me the Antecedentes from Baja California and filling out the two forms will take me less than a day.

I'm wondering why they want me to fill out another background information and generic information form.... Perhaps because it's been so long since I first applied..... Also the Section A that I have to give to the doctor still has my Tijuana address!!! Ughhh hopefully they don't send the PGR letter over there.
